BLACKLIST INTERNATIONAL returned to the winning column to keep the playoff dream alive, stunning the reigning world champions Falcons AP.Bren with a decisive sweep in the MPL Philippines Season 14 sixth week Friday action at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.
In the remaining weeks of the regular season, Blacklist International continued to find their groove, and the hard work of Kiel “Oheb” Soriano did not go unnoticed, receiving commendation from Falcons AP.Bren for stepping up to the plate.
Falcons AP.Bren team captain Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel and gold laner Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano observed Oheb’s consistency in farming resources to reach his power spike in the late game.
“Para sa akin, siguro si Oheb kasi consistent yung farming niya. Lagi niya nasasabay si Super Marco sa farm. Tapos nagagamit niya noong late game yung farming niya. Ito naman na sobrang sakit din niya. Pero problema rin namin yung burst niya eh,” Pheww commented, highlighting Oheb's superb marksmanship and how it presented a challenge for the Hive.
“Siguro si Oheb din kasi nagagamit niya yung farming niya sa late game,” Super Marco added.
Though Oheb earned much-deserved recognition, he remained humble and made sure to credit his teammates.
“Siguro kaya nagmukhang ganoon kasi nagawa rin nung mga kakampi ko yung mga trabaho nila. Kasi 'pag activated yung mga kakampi ko, automatic na parang activated na din ako eh. Parang basta walang maiiwan sa amin kahit isa, lahat kami magiging activated,” Oheb expressed that Blacklist International’s smooth performance is a result of everyone fulfilling their roles effectively.

A fighting chance
The first half of the regular season was a rocky start for Blacklist International, but it is not too late for the Codebreakers yet to turn the tides.
“Feeling ko, dahil sobrang namin talo, tapos ang dami namin na-realize, nag self-reflect kami lahat. [Nabigay] namin yung best performance namin,” Hadji said, gaining insights as the regular season progressed.
Taking down the defending world champion could be a long shot, but the commitment of Blacklist International to the grind and discipline eventually paid off.
“At tingin ko, sobrang laking factor ng practice namin ngayong week kung bakit ganito yung naging performance namin. Kasi sa practice pa lang namin, ginagawa na namin yung best namin,” Oheb expressed.
“Sabi ko sa kanila kung iki-keep nila yung ganitong momentum and ganitong work ethics, maki-keep naman talaga namin yung ganitong laruan as long as maki-keep din namin sa isa't isa individually yung mga magagandang work ethics or habit na-build namin,” coach Kristoffer "BON CHAN" Ricaplaza added.
