THE MSC 2021 matchup between Bigetron Alpha and Blacklist International was a one sided affair as the Filipino squad dominated their Indonesian foes... and the MPL: Invitational battle between these two teams was no different as the Codebreakers once again dispatched their foes.

A key contributor to Blacklist's victory? Their mastery of their signature 'UBE' strategy.

Timing is everything in MPLI results: Blacklist vs. Bigetron

In Game 1, BTR went with a hyper aggressive mobile damage dealing lineup with their Baxia, Aldous, and Fanny combo. Initially, it looked like the Codebreakers would suffer a defeat as the burst damage from Matthew "MATT" Geraldo's Fanny was too much for the sustain from Johnmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna's Estes.

But everything changed from the 12th minute on, as Blacklist secured key items while grouping up in a teamfight. The combination of Edward "Edward" Jay Dapadap's Khaleed and the V33nus' Estes provided the sustain needed. Plus, it also helped that Blacklist analyzed Gamora's Feathered Airstrike ability.

The same antics happened in Game 2 as Blacklist waited for their core players to gain momentum, which snowballed in the mid and the latter stages of the game. Blacklist underscored the point when Danerie James "Wise" Del Rosario charged straight to Gamora in the 15th minute clash.

The item timings allowed Wise to absorb a truckload of AOE damage from their Indonesian rivals.

Blacklist's zoning out capabilities were too overwhelming

Edward's presence in this series was highly felt as he made crucial plays in limiting's Bigetron's impact in teamfights. His Khaleed in Game 1 provided the additional surprise factor to weaken the frontliners of BTR, while his Esmeralda in Game 2 was tasked to man-mark Gamora's Feathered Airstrike ability. Besides Gamora, he likewise set his sights on Maxwell "MAXX" Alessandro's Yi Sun Shin.

With Edward chasing them down, Bigetron's damage outburst in teamfights were limited.

However, Blacklist's zoning antics weren't just limited to Edward as his partner in crime, Salic "Hadji" Imam, made crucial Chou pickoffs in Game 1. Plus they even spiced things up in Game 2 as they invaded BTR's jungle, limiting their resources in the early stages of the game.
