AT THE M4 world championships, Blacklist International started off 2023 strong with a convincing win over Turkey’s Incendio Supremacy.

Even if Incendio selected Yu Zhong and Atlas, heroes that Blacklist historically struggled with in the IESF, the Codebreakers found the answers against the dreaded crowd control combo from the Turkish squad.

While the 13-10 scoreline may look close, the 12-minute dissection and the team’s execution in most teamfights proved that Blacklist is still the team to beat in the tournament.

      How Blacklist prevailed over INC

Blacklist simply had the perfect response from INC’s crowd control prowess thanks to their Valentina pick from Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario. By stealing abilities from the Atlas and Yu Zhong, the Codebreakers mounted an effective counterattack.

These two heroes were perfect options for Wise as they could synergize well with Salic “Hadji” Imam’s Kadita, who can deliver a strong AOE barrage.

INC constantly bombarded Kiel “Oheb” Soriano, but Blacklist found the right adjustments as he properly positioned himself away from the danger zone while his teammates rallied to protect him.

And as the match went on, Edward “Edward” Jay Dapadap exploded in a decisive final play. With his Benedetta, he dissected the Turkish squad, giving them a commanding victory over the supposedly anti-Blacklist draft.

With momentum on their side, Blacklist will be facing both Burn X Flash and Falcon Esports on January 3.
