THE LATEST vlog from Setsuna "Akosi Dogie" Ignacio has revealed a potential move that could happen for TNC during the regular season.
Frederic Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales to the Phoenix Army? The possibilities have increased with Dogie revealing Bennyqt's arrival to TNC's bootcamp. In the video, Bennyqt revealed that he has no contract with Team Liquid, making him an official free agent.
But if ever he really wants to make it into the Phoenix's MPL roster, there are factors to consider.
The MPL's rule on free agents
In the previous season, the MPL Philippines encourages teams to sign free agents and potentially explore trades with other teams, however there are changes to this system.
For one, teams can only deploy players to play in the big leagues once they enlist them first in the Mobile Legends Development League (MDL). Afterwards, they can proceed to the professional league.
However, Bennyqt also needs to keep himself sharp and Dogie gave the gold laner a memorandum.
“Sa ngayon tol, ibabatak mo muna kasi sabi mo sa akin hindi ka batak, eh.” (As of now you need to hustle and grind because you said you lack sharpness), said Dogie to Bennyqt.
Dogie also gave Bennyqt a standard, where he will play in 25 ranked games for around 3 to 5 days. Once this has been completed, Bagyong Benny will receive a training regimen from the team.
Bennyqt wants a six month contract
Besides discussing the requirements, Dogie asked the gold laner on what his preferences are when it comes to his duration with the team.
"Tapos yung contract mo ano gusto mo? Six months or one year?" he asked.
Bennyqt opted to stay for six months, allowing him to explore his options in case things don't pan out well with TNC.
If he ever he fully commits with the team, Bennyqt will be reunited with former teammates Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera, Frediemar "3MarTzy" Serafico, and Justine Sadia "Zaida" Palma. Together they aim to revitalize TNC, ending their playoff drought.
Prior to his arrival to the bootcamp, there were rumors swirling around that Bagyong Benny was bound to join Omega Esports.
