PETER "BASIC" BRYCE LOZANO didn't hesitate to ring in the new year by posting screenshots of chats allegedly sent by ECHO PH's Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera.
In a series of screenshots, Basic uploaded what looked like Yawi's conversations with Caro, who is Basic's girlfriend. The initial discussions were done via Facebook Messenger's Vanish Mode, which the ECHO roamer (using his "yawiesports" handle) apparently kicked off by saying: "You're pretty and sexy body BTW. You should be proud and confident."
Basic, who back in 2021 was also involved in a controversy with Yawi's former teammate Renejay Barcarse, then uploaded screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation. In them, "yawii" (the name that appears on the screenshots) denied that they "[had] a girl in IG."
"What? I don't have a girl," they said. "I don't have a girl in IG, WTF! You talk to many boys!"
Eventually yawii requested a hangout.
"I don't know but come here right know if u really want to be friends with me and my manager. But I understand if u don't want."
The texts were persistent. "Come here! Hayst nvm! I want you to be here but nvm. I think you're talking to boys. It looks like you're more on the Valley. So I will start helping you. If right now you want, I'll make discussions, but it looks like you don't listen to me and listen to Basic."
They added: "If u r not excited. I'm really not excited about you. So being Yawi, u don't want me."
'You are ekiz'
yawii asked for an address, but later told them that they are "ekiz."
"Nvm. For me u will be friend of common friends. You are ekiz. For Filipino, u are 'X' to me. U love Basic and goodluck with that."
After denying that they were drunk texting, yawii also pleaded, "Hayst i wanna be with u. Anw nevermind. Just sleep and see you next life. Come here pls. I miss you. Anyways, i feel like you're just thinking about yourself. Anyways take care. I felt like you're using me but I feel like you're a good girl. Anyways take care. Bye."
In the uploaded gallery, Basic posted a final screenshot. Aside from a blurry profile picture, there are no other identifiers in the upload.
