No breaks: AP.Bren sacrifices a 2-week break for a playoff push

AURORA GAMING overpowered AP.Bren with a decisive 2-0 sweep on Week 6 of the MPL Philippines Season 15, sinking the Hive deeper into a slump with the regular season nearing its end.

Things are not looking great for AP.Bren as their playoff dreams hang by a thread, but there's still a chance to turn things around.

The Hive has a 1-match point record alongside Twisted Minds and Smart Omega, where each point is now more crucial than ever.

A two-week break is scheduled for MPL Philippines in observance of Holy Week and the Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Masters 2025, providing AP.Bren with the perfect window to work hard and achieve the progress they’ve been aiming for.

No rest for the Hive

Kailangan lang namin ng talagang isang buong sacrifice. Kasi kung sakaling maganda na mailaro namin sa after break na yun, worth it yung sacrifice namin na magca-call kami ng no day off,” head coach Jeffrey “Jeff” Manforte said, determined to make sacrifices to stay alive in the MPL playoffs contention.

What’s stopping AP.Bren from firing on all cylinders as the regular season wraps up? For Jan Carl “shizou” Valdez, it’s the lack of a clear identity.

“Struggles ng team siguro wala pa kaming pinapanghawakan na parang ito yung AP.Bren ngayon, malakas sila sa ganito. Wala pa kaming ganun. So ita-try namin i-work out pa,” Shizou pointed out.

“Syempre may pressure kasi nga yung bottom 3 magkakadikit lang. Pero sinasabi naman sa amin ng mga coach na huwag ma-pressure kasi nga mahirap yun kapag naglalaro ka."

"Kailangan mong maglaro nang tama para makakuha ka ng points. Kasi sa araw-araw namin minsan yung scrim namin pangit, minsan maganda, ganun. Yung kulang nalang sa amin ma-execute namin nang tama sa stage,” team captain Landher “Der” San Gabriel said, not surrendering to the pressure with the unwavering support of their coaching staff.
