The Beehive has finally broken out of their slump, and their victory was no mere coincidence—so what adjustments have been made within the new generation Hive?
AP.Bren’s technical analyst Ronnel “Cjay” Espinoza emphasized that sticking to what they do best and, most importantly, discipline gave them the edge over Smart Omega.
“Ginawa lang namin yung dapat namin gawin siguro, yung mga keys to victory talaga namin. Kung ano yung napag-usapan namin, in-execute lang namin. Yung mga napag-practican, lahat ng napag-usapan. Kasi yung mga last time na laro namin, kinukulang lang kami sa disiplina, tsaka linis ng laro. Siguro yun lang yung pinakamalaking adjustment namin,” coach Cjay said.
AP.Bren’s victory against Smart Omega was not just about breaking into the winning column; it also provided a much-needed confidence boost to the young talents against the league's seasoned pros.
“Sobrang halaga po kasi ito yung matagal na namin hinintay, yung makakuha kami ng isang panalo kasi madadala namin yung momentum namin sa mga susunod pa naming laban,” jungler Jonathan “JamesPangks” Mendoza expressed.
An unwavering spirit
AP.Bren faced a challenging start in the regular season, struggling for weeks to secure the elusive victory, but the Hive’s unwavering spirit never faltered.
“Pinapaalala lang po sa amin ng mga coach namin na hangga’t hindi pa tapos yung regular season, kailangan talaga namin lumaban. Hindi kasi pwede yung sumuko talaga. Hangga’t may chance pa talaga na bumangon, babangon kami,” team captain Landher “Dher” San Gabriel said, remaining resilient each time AP.Bren deals with the bitter taste of defeat.
Meanwhile, head coach Jeffrey “Jeff” Manforte acknowledged the team's hard work but emphasized the need to stay focused with tougher opponents awaiting AP.Bren.
“Nakaka-proud lang yung mga players and then mga co-coaches ko na nagbunga yung mga usap namin, review namin, scouting reports namin. Talagang lahat ng hard work namin nagbunga. Pero syempre gusto rin namin na masaya kami ngayon."
"Pero gusto ko ang mindset namin; once na umalis na kami ng venue, naka-reset na kami nang maayos para bukas back to zero ulit kami sa Falcons,” coach Jeff said, determined to reset before their showdown with Team Falcons.
