BLACKLIST INTERNATIONAL's decision to acquire Abed "Abed" Yusop to join their ranks for Dota 2 has been one of the biggest signings this offseason.
In the previous years, Abed spent most of his time playing overseas, especially in Southeast Asia and North America.
Now he has returned back to his roots and play for a Philippine team which last happened back in 2016 when he was with Execration.
"It’s always been my dream talaga na bumalik so the timing is right this time," he said during the press conference for the Asia Pacific Predator League 2024.
Then he went back and recalled those days in the past, when he tried to invite his current teammates in Blacklist to join him abroad.
"Ever since naman yung mga players na kakampi ko ngayon parang matagal ko na rin silang ini-invite sa mga naging previous na international teams ko," he started.
"And then this year feeling ko yung timing talaga nag-align sa aming mga players and eto rin talaga yung best na opportunity namin na maging teammates."
Exciting times ahead
With him returning to home soil, there was a lot of excitement for Abed to fully showcase and display his skills to a local audience.
"Personally mas excited akong maglaro sa Philippines this time around because yung last tournament ko was way back in 2016 pa if I’m not wrong," revealed Abed.
"Parang medyo mas smaller pa yung tournaments at that time (2016) so mas nag-prepare kami and mas excited kaming to play sa upcoming playoffs sa MOA."
Then when he talked about his overall experience with Blacklist compared to his stint abroad, Abed explained that there is one thing that made his region stand out.
"Actually para sa akin, very similar yung experience ko pero yung environment during practices parang mas loud lang yung mga Asian players in general," he said.
Abed will be one of the key figures for Blacklist to make a push in the upcoming finale of the Asia Pacific Predator League 2024. A win could definitely kickstart their 2024 campaign.
