SEVEN members of a dragon boat team died during training off Boracay Island on Wednesday morning.
A 21-member crew of the Boracay Dragon Force Team was reportedly training off Sitio Lingganay in Barangay Manoc-Manoc when strong waves caused the boat to capsize.

Fourteen members were rescued by Philippine Coast Guard Sub-Station Boracay, while seven casualties — three women and four men — were retrieved.
The Coast Guard said the incident happened around 7:30 a.m.
The survivors were brought to Saint Gabriel Hospital.
The Philippine Olympic Committee will provide financial assistance to the families of seven members of the dragon boat team who perished in the accident.

POC president Abraham "Bambol” Tolentino made the announcement after the POC General Assembly on Wednesday morning at the Conrad HOtel.
“This is a very sad, and tragic incident. All we can do is condole with the families and loved ones of the deceased and try and give some help to them," he said.
