THE Philippine dragon boat team from the Philippine Canoe Kayak Federation (PCKF) won two gold medals in the recently-concluded Asian Canoe Sprint and Dragon Boat Championship in Palembang, Indonesia.
The squad ruled the small boat 10-seater 200m and 500m events in the competition that featured teams from Indonesia, Japan, Iran, Thailand, and Chinese Taipei.
The members of the squad are 2015 Southeast Asian Games bronze medalists Hermie Macaranas and Ojay Fuentes, Alex Generalo, Fernan Dungan, Michael Selencio, John Paul Selencio, Reymart Nevado, Jonathan Ruiz, Marvin Amposta, Mark John Frias, Maribeth Caranto, and Patricia Ann Bustamante.
The coaches are Len Escollante and Diomedes Manalo.
