Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series to hold kickoff leg in El Nido, Palawan

    Feb 20, 2019

THE popular Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series goes to the Philippines for the first time when it kicks off its 11th season in picturesque El Nido, Palawan on April 12 to 13.

The highly-anticipated debut in the Philippines of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series will feature 24 professional male and female cliff divers from 18 nations, led by champions Rhiannan Iffland of Australia and Briton Gary Hunt.

The divers will soar from heights of up to 27 meters at speeds in excess of 86 kilometers per hour with nothing else but their concentration, skill, and physical control in the clear emerald waters of the Small and Big Lagoon in Miniloc Island.

Divers will be scored by an international jury who will grade each dive on the following metrics: take off, position in the air and entry in the water.

The seven-stop global tour will feature three new sites, including its debut in the world’s most beautiful island, Ireland and Lebanon.
