PH dragon boat team loses steam yet again

Dragon boat team winds up with two silver, one bronze in Asian Beach Games

The Philippine men’s dragon boat team fell short anew, and it wasn’t a even close this time.

Indonesia won the 3,000-meter final in 13 minutes and 59.411 seconds and Thailand took second in 14:01.553, almost six seconds ahead of the Philippines in the 2012 Asian Beach Games on Tuesday in Haiyang, China.

The Filipino paddlers checked in at 14:07.2 for the bronze, after losses of just under half a second in the 500-m and 200-m events.

The Philippine team, which goes home with two silvers and one bronze medal, is made up of Jameson Bumahit, Florence Caro, Nelson Cordova, Raquiel Espinosa, Alex Generalo, Ambrocio Gontinas Jr., Alberto Hugo, Rolando Isidro Jr., Hermie Macaranas, Joseph Magno, Diomedes Manalo, Ric Nacional, Ronniel Rafael, Dativo Romares, Ricky Sardena and Alex Sumagaysay.
