IRISH Wong swept the women’s individual time trial events in cycling competition of the Philippine National Games (PNG) in Pililia, Rizal.
Wong won the 10-km ITT with a time of 28 minutes, 39 seconds on her way to ruling both the 15-to-20 and 15-to-17 year old divisions, respectively.
In the men’s 10-km ITT, Jay Lampawog clinched the 18-to-20 year old division with a time of 20:38, with Mervin Corpuz and Resty Servito taking second and third places with 21:58 and 22:09, respectively.
Daniel Ven Cariño won the 15-to-17 year old division with a clocking of 20:52, followed by Rex Luis Krog (21:27) and Jave Panton (22:06).
In athletics over at the Philsports track oval, Karen Janario of University of Santo Tomas clinched her third gold medal by winning the 200-m run with a time of 25.63 seconds, adding to her earlier victories in the 4x100-m and 100-m hurdles.
Former national team member Danilo Fresnido of the Philippine Army won the javelin throw event with an effort of 59.90 meters.
Over at the F. R. Sevilla Archery Range in Novaliches, Quezon City, Loren Chloe Balaoing of Baguio snared two gold medals after teaming up with James Matthew Quilalallan in the mixed team open recurve, and later with Shanava Rose Dangla and Cynah Mari Hidalgo in the women’s open recurve.
