A CAMBODIAN boy became a topic of conversation of the Filipino biking community online for his dogged determination in a cycling race.
A Facebook post by a certain Hong Makaravuth showed the Cambodian kid competing in a race barefoot and using a worn-down Japanese bike while going up against other kids his age in their shiny mountain bikes.
It was not clear if the Cambodian youngster won the race but a video in the Facebook post saw race officials chipping in money for the kid. The video has generated about 3,000 shares as of this writing.
Filipino cyclists were touched by the story of the boy, which eventually received a mountain bike from a benefactor named Lang Tyelang.
“Now I find that boy and give him a bike for his hard work and good attitude,” wrote Lang.
