RONDA Pilipinas will hold five-stage races in Mindanao in February, the Visayas in March and in Luzon in April.
Instead of one overall champion, the 2016 Ronda will have separate winners for the Mindanao, Visayas and Luzon events.
Ronda starts on Feb. 20 with a road race in Butuan City and a criterium the next day.
Cagayan de Oro will host a leg on Feb. 23, a time trial is set in Manolo Fortich on Feb. 25 before another criterium in Malaybalay on Feb. 27.
The Visayas leg will start with a criterium in Bago City on March 11, Stage Two criterium in Iloilo City on March 13, a Stage Three road race from Ilolilo to Roxas City on March 15, Stage Four criterium and Stage Five ITT in Roxas both on March 17.
The Luzon event consists of a criterium at the Paseo de Sta. Rosa on April 3, an ITT from Talisay to Tagaytay the next day, criterium in Antipolo City on April 6, a road race from Dagupan to Baguio on April 8 and a criterium in the City of Pines.
"We want each cities, towns and provinces we visit will have a chance to see our riders and our race the whole day," said Ronda sports development head Moe Chulani.
"Aside from the open elite division, we still have the Under-23 category because we believe that somewhere out there, there are gems in the rough waiting to be discovered," said Chulani.
