Kenny 'The Magician' Belaey has some biking tricks to treat the crowd at the PhilBike Expo.

BIKE trail star Kenny ‘The Magician’ Belaey and Japanese YouTube biking sensations Yu Shoji and Takumi Isogai gave a glimpse of the treats in store for the thousands of bike enthusiasts who will flock the SMX Convention Center this weekend for the third edition of the PhilBike Expo.

The trio performed a medley of impressive tricks that they will showcase during the press conference for the event on Tuesday at the Venice Mall in McKinley Hills.

The three bike stars will lead the showcase of over 100 brands from cycling and fitness to offer to over thousands of bike enthusiasts and even first-timers in the third staging of PhilBikeExpo, the only international-standard trade and consumer cycling show in the Philippines.

The convention has drawn more than 17,000 guests in the past two years according to organizer Phil-Bike Convention Inc. It not only aims to give cycling enthusiasts’ access to the most diverse range of local and international products and demonstrations. It also gives a stage for bike pros like Belaey to inspire aspiring bikers to excel in their craft.

“I think our mission, no matter who we are whether flatlanders or BMX riders, I think it’s good to inspire people and to see what is possible,” said Belaey. “In sports you can’t stay in your comfort zone so you spread your message with hard work and dedication in exploring your limits.”

Belaey is considered one of the biggest names in the bike trail world scene. The 24-year old cycling veteran made his debut in 1992 and has since been known as a constant innovator and professional. He is the record holder of the most medals won at the World Cup and World Championships. His latest video project, “Balance”, saw him crossing a slackline on the top of the French Alps, a feat that no biker has done.

Isogai was the first place winner of the 2014 FlatArk Expert and came in at eighth place for the 2016 FlatDev Pro.

The duo is mentored by Viki Gómez, who is returning to PhilBike for the second year in a row. Hailed as one of the best flatland bikers in the world, the 35-year-old Spaniard is known for his constant creation of new tricks that combine flow and rhythm and challenge the limits of imagination. The Red Bull athlete is a three-time Champion of the Flatland World Circuit Series, as well as a three-time Red Bull Circle of Balance Champion. He is also a two-time winner of the European X-Games.

Also part of the Expo is a selection of games, contests and raffles that will give attendees the chance to bring home brand new mountain bikes among the prizes.
