Marella Salamat, Irish Mae Wong rule respective categories in PRURide to London criterium race
Marella Salamat topped the open women's category and earned an all-expense paid trip to London.

NATIONAL team members Marella Salamat and Irish Mae Wong ruled the PRUride to London Criterium Race held on Saturday at the McKinley West.

Salamat, a gold medalist in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games road race, took the open women’s category title, beating Genisis Marana of Corratec Pilipinas and Wong.

Wong got a title of her own as she captured the junior women’s category in beating Marana and Jerah Domingo of Nueva Ecija.

Salamat, who along with Wong is coached by national team mentor Arturo Lobramonte, got an all-expense paid trip to London by winning the open event.

The race actually capped off an impressive streak for Salamat, who competed in the men's under-23 category and still placed second in the overall classification of the Giro De Pilipinas held November 5 to 6 in Subic.

Salamat also wound up third in the Women’s Tour of Malaysia held October 25 to 30.
