Marcelo Felipe slips to fourth in Asian rider category after tough fourth stage of Tour de Langkawi

MARCELO Felipe dropped to 28th in the overall general classification and fourth in the Best Asian Rider category after finishing 36th in the tough Stage Four of the Le Tour de Langkawi on Saturday.

Felipe clocked three hours, 26 minutes, 21 seconds in the 129.4-kilometer Stage Four from Ipoh to the mountainous Tanah Rata, but was a minute and 44 seconds behind stage winner and new overall leader Miguel Angel Lopez of the Astana Pro Team.

Felipe, a rider for the 7-Eleven Sava RBP team and top Filipino finisher at fifth in Le Tour de Filipinas, is 1:48 behind Lopez in the general classification. He fell from second to fourth in the Asian standings, 26 seconds behind first-placer Othman Adiq Hussaine of Terangganu Cycling Team.

7-Eleven Sava RBP is 10th in the team category.
