Le Tour de Filipinas postponed as Albay declares state of calamity due to Mayon eruption

THE ninth edition of the Le Tour de Filipinas has been postponed as Albay declares state of calamity due to the eruption of Mayon volcano.

The Le Tour route is primarily around the perimeter of the volcano, as well as in nearby provinces of Catanduanes and Sorsogon.

The organizing Ube Media Inc. has yet to determine the new dates for the top pro cycling event in the country originally set February 18 to 21.

The world cycling federation Union Cycliste Internationale as well as the teams, foreign and local, have been informed of the situation.
