MARK Galedo has little time to lick his wounds after the 2015 Le Tour de Filipinas letdown as he gets back on the saddle next week.
After falling short of defending his individual title in the four-stage international race that ended on Wednesday, the Filipino cycling star will wear the country’s colors in the Asian Cycling Championship set in Thailand from February 10 to 14.
“Yun na yung susunod nating paghahandaan ngayon,” said Galedo, whose back-to-back title bid was foiled by Thomas Lebas after the Frenchman finished nearly two minutes ahead of the runner-up Pinoy pedalist in the overall race.
Galedo is set to take part in the individual time trial in the Asian Championship, seeking to produce a better performance this time.
The 29-year-old rider placed 15th in the same event in the 2012 edition of the annual continental tournament.
Two other national team members in Le Tour riders Jun Rey Navarra and Ronald Oranza will vie in the Asian meet's road race.
Galedo then caps his busy month by participating in the Ronda Pilipinas national championship from February 22 to 27.
It doesn’t stop there as Galedo competes in other races calendared on the Asian Tour in the next few months — all part of his buildup for the Southeast Asian Games in June where he will try to duplicate his golden finish in the 50-kilometer ITT event two years ago in Myanmar.
“Tuloy tuloy naman mga karera natin sa labas ng bansa,” said Galedo, also a bronze medalist in the team race in the 2013 SEA Games.
