MARCELO Felipe stayed in 12th place in the overall general classification despite finishing 33rd in Stage Three of the Le Tour de Langkawi.
Felipe was part of a 91-man first group in the 107.2-kilometer stage from Kulim to Kuala Sangsar won by American John Murphy of the United Healthcare Pro Cycling Team with a time of 2 hours, 30 minutes, 31 seconds.
The 7-Eleven Sava RBP rider, however, stayed second in the Best Asian Rider category behind China’s Meiyin Wang of Hengxiang Cycling Team, who is fifth in the individual general classification.
Felipe wore the white jersey usually assigned to the Best Asian Rider as Wang is also the King of the Mountain.
Stage Four will be a 129.4km ride from Ipoh to Cameron Highlands.
