ELITE cyclists and riding enthusiasts race on road and mountain bikes over 64 kilometers, while riders on folding bikes and kiddie bikes also get to share the spotlight in the Manila-Tagaytay Bike Challenge on November 29.
The 64K races start at Remedios Circle in Malate and end at Sky Ranch in Tagaytay.
The riders will be flagged off at 6 a.m. and will pedal together in a seven-kilometer neutral zone behind a pace bike before they are released to ride their own pace.
The folding bike group will have an 18K ride from Silang Bypass, while the kiddie and mini-bike categories will be done on Mahogany Street, Tagaytay City.
Aside from the Open/Elite division, also set are road competitions in the men’s 23-and-under, 24 to 35 years old, 36 years old and above, and women’s division. The MTB will have 23-and-under and 24 and above divisions.
The folding bike group will have the male and female divisions, while the kiddie categories are 2 to 3, 4 to 5, and 6 to 10 years old.
Clubs from Manila, Benguet, Isabela and Tarlac, and a rider from Singapore have registered for the event, according to race director Philip Aquino Pacle of Renderfarm Sports.
