GT BICYCLES Philippines is set to release limited-edition Avalanche Pilipinas frames to those who made reservations last month, the brand announced on its Facebook page.
Avalanche Pilipinas is one of most-awaited mountain bike releases this year. It bears the Philippine flag on its top tube and chain stay - the product of a rare partnership between a global brand and a local partner.
“In all my years biking, I can’t remember any other global brand coming up with a local collaboration with their distributor,” said Hector Yuzon, head of marketing of RD Cycles - the official distributor of GT Bicycles in the country - during a Facebook Live broadcast last July that discussed the Avalanche Pilipinas frames.
GT Bicycles Philippines unveiled the Avalanche Pilipinas last September 7 and its stock was sold out within days, based on a post on its FB page.
The bike has six colorways – aqua/orange fade, black/gloss black, deep blue/turquoise, military green, satin slate blue, and silver/blue fade.
GT Bicycles Philippines said it will announce the official launch date of Avalanche Pilipinas once the delivery of stocks to different bike shops is completed for distribution to buyers.
“It was one year in the making. It was a lot of communication back and forth between the local distributor and GT as principal specially sa marketing and design team nila,” said Yuzon.
