THE URCC bared special rules and measures to ensure a safe fight in the highly anticipated exhibition match between actors Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos on Saturday at the Valkyrie Night Club in Taguig City.

URCC founder Alvin Aguilar said they are imposing a different set of rules to protect the fighters for this one-off match, which was held to provide a more productive outlet to the quarrel between Geisler and Matos after their bar brawl went viral online.

Although Geisler and Matos have been training for the exhibition fight, Aguilar said the match will be fought under pro-am rules of the MMA outfit since both men are not professional fighters.

The match, according to Aguilar, will have two three-minute rounds while Geisler and Matos will be made to wear thicker gloves and a special mouthpiece.

“It doesn’t mean na exhibition bout, isasalang lang natin sila. They are going to have thicker gloves and mouthpieces that we have arranged for them. They are going to be under pro-am rules which are basically regular MMA rules without the knees and elbows,” said Aguilar.

Aguilar also said a referee will also not hesitate to stop the fight if he feels that one of the fighters is already hurt. A medical team will also check Geisler and Matos before, during, and after the fight.

“When someone is hurt, that’s it. We have to be in different parameters because they are not pro fighters yet,” said Aguilar.

Aguilar also assured that the URCC will be accountable for anything that happens to Geisler and Matos.

“If anything happens to them, URCC will be responsible for any injury that happens,” said Aguilar.

The exhibition bout will be part of a nine-fight card in the URCC Fight Night.
