Actress Bianca Manalo shows up to witness MMA fights, but couldn't bear to watch

BEAUTY QUEEN turned actress Bianca Manalo was an odd and refreshing sight in the crowd watching PXC 51 on Saturday night at Solaire Grand Ballroom, mainly because her reactions were in stark contrast to that of the other fight fans.

The Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2009 sat at the VIP section with boyfriend Brazilian-Japanese model-slash-actor Fabio Ide, who's friends with one of the fighters in the undercard. And for most of the night, she'd cover her eyes while the entire audience would cheer and applaud for each strong punch or, at some point, a knockout.

“Ayaw ko talaga ng may mga dugo, kahit nga wrestling hindi ako nanonood eh,” Manalo told during the intermission before the main event.

“I was telling them kina Fabio, this was the first time that I’ll be watching this kind of event. Kasi even a (Manny) Pacquiao fight I don’t watch kasi I find it violent [or] as I always say, I find it barbaric,” she added frankly.

“I couldn’t even look at the screen,” she continued, noting that the experience got confusing at one point. “I was cheering for the Philippines and [the next fight] we’re cheering for the Brazilian guy kasi he’s [Fabio's] friend.”

Manalo tried to be polite in admitting to having some fun as the fight night went on, but the outspoken celebrity couldn't control her true emotions from taking over.

“I tried (to enjoy it) it’s fun naman, but I cannot promise to watch it again. It’s an experience...,” she said, losing her train of thought in trying to recount one memorable scene she just witnessed.

“At saka ‘yung nasa gilid, parang ano ba? Hindi nga siya makasipa, hindi rin siya makasiko,” added Manalo as if she’d wanted to stop the fight.
