ASIDE from the comeback fight of MMA legend BJ Penn, UFC Fight Night Manila will feature the company’s first ever women’s bout in the Philippines between strawweights Seo Hee Ham and Danielle Taylor on October 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Taylor (7-2 win-loss record) is looking to make up for a split-decision loss in her UFC debut earlier this month against ninth-ranked strawweight Maryna Moroz. Her wrestling and knockout power will be tested against striking specialist Ham, the first South Korean woman to compete in the UFC and once considered the second top atomweight fighter in the world.

Ham owns a Fight of the Night bonus for her win over 14th-ranked strawweight fighter Cortney Casey in November 2015 but is also coming off a loss last March against Bec Rawlings. She has a 16-7 win-loss record, 1-2 in the UFC.

Also added to the undercard of the Manila event is the featherweight clash between Japan’s Mizuto Hirota and Cole Miller.

A standout striker, Hirota will compete in his first fight after being named co-winner of Road to UFC: Japan last November. The Japanese fighter will be facing a tough test in Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Miller, who hopes to end his two-year winless drought in the UFC against Hirota.

Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champ Penn faces off against Ricardo Lamas in a featherweight bout to headline the Manila card. The co-main event is a heavyweight battle between Derrick Lewis and Marcin Tybura. Also in the card is a clash of flyweight title contenders in Kyoji Horiguchi and Ali Bagautinov.

UFC Fight Night Manila: Lamas vs Penn is sponsored by Monster Energy, Harley-Davidson Asia Pacific, Hudson Shipping Lines, Phoenix Petroleum, Reebok Philippines, Lazada Philippines, Police Watches and Smart Bro.
