UFC Fight Night Manila’s stacked fight card headlined by BJ Penn and Ricardo Lamas found a big co-main event as heavyweight contender Derrick ‘The Black Beast’ Lewis is set to face off against fellow knockout artist Marcin ‘Tybur’ Tybura on October 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Fighting out of Houston, Texas, Lewis looks to climb up the heavyweight ladder as he rides a four-fight win streak, three via knockout, into the Manila bout. The 10th-ranked UFC heavyweight fighter is coming off a split decision victory over Roy Nelson last July, and his knockout over Gabriel Gonzaga in April earned Performance of the Night honors.

Tybura, though, is no slouch. The 30-year-old Polish fighter was a highly touted prospect who entered the UFC in April, but suffered a unanimous decision loss to Timothy Johnson. He more than made up for his disappointing debut, as he displayed his power with a vicious head kick knockout on Viktor Pesta on his next bout last month to also nab the Performance of the Night bonus.

The Lewis-Tybura heavyweight bout is scheduled before the anticipated main event featuring the return of MMA legend Penn against Lamas. The undercard will also have a clash of flyweight contenders Kyoji Horiguchi and Ali Bagautinov.

“We are very excited to return to Manila and for our fans to witness this epic battle between a true MMA legend in B.J. Penn and former Featherweight title challenger Ricardo Lamas. UFC FIGHT NIGHT® Manila: LAMAS VS. PENN is an event that can’t be missed by fans and followers of the sport.
