PNP chief Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa was one of the thousands who witnessed ONE: Kings of Destiny that saw Eduard Folayang retain his lightweight crown on Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

But the PNP chief, an avid MMA fan, was fully confident even before the main card began that Folayang will not let the home crowd down and showed his full support as he arrived wearing a shirt of Team Lakay.

“We support Eduard Folayang, ang ating hometown hero,” said Dela Rosa in a brief chat with reporters during fight night. “Mananalo yan.”

Indeed, Folayang did not disappoint as he scored a unanimous victory over Ev Ting in his first title defense of his ONE belt.

This is not the first time that Dela Rosa has been spotted in sports events, having watched the PBA games recently, specifically the matches of Barangay Ginebra in the finals.

As for MMA, the PNP chief even said that he knows how to do martial arts, enumerating the sports that he knows.

“Boxing, judo, wrestling, karate,” said the high-ranking government official.
