THE two homegrown Filipinos failed to deliver in the maiden staging of the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the Philippines.

Team Lakay standouts Mark Eddiva and Roldan Sangcha-an bowed to their respective foes in UFC Fight Night Manila on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Eddiva surrendered a split-decision loss to Levan Makashvili in an uneventful featherweight bout that saw both fighters do nothing spectacular, only for the American to edge the Pinoy with some clear takedowns.

Sangcha-an, on the other hand, bowed to Jon delos Reyes via submission as he failed to sustain his early gains in their flyweight bout.

The Mountain Province native seemed to take control early, only to get hit with a right cross to the chin that left his mouthpiece flying.

The Guamanian continued the onslaught on the ground before seeing the opportunity to execute a rear-naked choke that forced the Pinoy to tap out of late in the second round.
