MACAU - Spotlight-shy Jomary Torres proved actions speak louder than words in the cage after submitting Rika Ishige in the second round of their women's atomweight bout in ONE: Kings and Conquerors on Saturday, here at the Cotai Arena.

It was an impressive ONE Championship debut for Torres who, days before, looked shaky and nervous while she answered questions in the press conference.

Good thing for her, they were being paid to fight and not to talk.

The finish came with 3:02 left in the second, after the 21-year-old fighter made the perfect transition to a rear-naked choke to force the tap-out from her highly touted foe.

The fight was just the second in Torres' young career but she surely made it count after displaying tenacious striking and a surprisingly decent ground game.

After a fairly tight first round, the end came for her Thai foe as she caught Ishige's kick to start the second round and went on a tear, alternating leg kicks and punches before sweeping Tiny Doll' to the ground.

The moment Ishige was sent on her back, Torres pummeled away, giving Ishige no space to breath with some impressive ground and pound.

As Ishige looked to counter, Torres swiftly transitioned to a rear naked choke, leaving Ishige no other choice but to submit.

With the loss, Ishige dropped to 2-1 in her career.
