FRESH from historic conquests, UFC featherweight champ Conor McGregor and women's bantamweight titleholder Holly Holm are out to make history again, as co-headliners of the upcoming UFC 197 in Las Vegas.

According to several reports, McGregor will face UFC lightweight king Rafael Dos Anjos for the latter's belt while Holm takes on No. 1 contender Miesha Tate in the blockbuster event set for March 5 (March 6, Manila time).

Bleacher Report's Jeremy Botter first broke the news on Twitter, pointing out that the UFC will soon make the official announcement. Then MMAJunkie added that multiple sources who asked to remain anonymous have said that the fight camps have verbally agreed but have yet to sign the contracts.

The McGregor-Dos Anjos bout holds a lot of significance for the 27-year-old Irish champ, as he looks to be the third man (after Randy Couture and BJ Penn) to hold UFC belts in two different weight classes and, should he prevail, be the first to own two UFC titles at the same time.

Meanwhile, the Holm-Tate match just affirms UFC president Dana White's words to Fox Sports 1 on Wednesday that the Albuquerque-based champ's first title defense will not be the highly anticipated rematch with Ronda Rousey.

UFC 197 is set in Las Vegas but it remains unclear whether the event will be held in the MGM Grand Garden Arena or the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
