UE Pep Squad coach, captain want young members to attract podium feeling

UE Pep Squad coach and team captain want rest of the team to know what it feels like to be in the Top Three
    Nov 14, 2019

MOTIVATED by the desire to feel that bliss of being called in the top three, University of the East Pep Squad is determined to give its best in the UAAP Season 82 Cheerdance Competition.

With only a few left from the team that finished third in the UAAP CDC two years ago with its phoenix-inspired performance, UE Pep Squad coach Gibson Alegre wants his current team to feel the same happiness as their seniors.

“Pinaiimagine ko sa kanila kung gaano kasarap ‘yung [feeling na] ina-announce ang eskwelahan [sa top three],” Alegre told SPIN.ph.

Three days before the competition on November 17 at the MOA Arena, the UE Pep Squad mentor told his team that they are in control of their fate.

“Ngayon, sabi ko, let’s aim na ma-pull off muna ang routine then sabi ko nga everything will follow,” said Alegre.

“Depende ‘yun kung paano nila pagta-trabahuhan ‘yung remaining days,” he added.

For team captain Jeanelyn Briones, who’s on her fifth and final year, she wants her teammates to experience that same feeling of winning.

“Gusto namin iparanas sa kanila ‘yung ganoong feeling na masaya,” she said. “Kasi dala mo ang UE eh, gusto mong maging proud ang UE community, ‘yung mga sumusuporta, na hindi namin sila bibiguin, ganoong feeling.”
