UAAP is back in swing, revives Streetdance Competition

    Nov 20, 2014

THE UAAP is bringing back the streetdance competition this season, making it a separate event to be held in a bigger venue instead of being a side show for the league closing ceremony.

What used to be part of the closing ceremony will now be given the same treatment as the cheerdance competition and will be held on February 8 at the MOA Arena.

The streetdance contest was last held in Season 75, won by University of the Philippines.

Ngayon, separate event na,” UAAP secretary treasurer Rod Roque of host University of the East.

Roque also said the revival of the event is made possible with the sponsorship of the SM Group.

The UE athletic director also added streetdance groups from the schools will also perform during the volleyball competitions to give the event more exposure.

“Every game ng volleyball, bago mag-start ’yung laro, mag-peperform ’yung teams ng sabay for two minutes to promote the streetdance,” said Roque.
