THE UAAP will stage its highly-anticipated Season 87 Cheerdance Competition on Dec. 1 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
This year’s edition of the annual cheerdance tilt has history written all over it.
After ruling Season 86 with its dynamic ‘Super Mario’ routine, defending champion Far Eastern University Cheering Squad will shoot for its third UAAP CDC crown in four seasons.
National University Pep Squad, which had won seven of the last ten tilts, has a league-tying eighth CDC title in its sights.
Stronger, better, together
Should they reclaim the title this season, NU will forge a three-way tie with the University of Santo Tomas Salinggawi Dance Troupe and the University of the Philippines Varsity Pep Squad for the most number of UAAP CDC titles with eight.
UST and UP, meanwhile, hope to take such a distinction for themselves as the league’s winningest cheer team with what could be a record-setting ninth CDC win.
Hence, ‘bigger, better, and more spectacular performances’ are to be expected on the mats.
“The UAAP CDC for this season promises bigger, better, and more spectacular performances from all eight schools as they prepare stronger, better, and together for one of the league's biggest events," said tournament director Rod Roque.
Adamson, on the other hand, hopes to put and end to a seven-year title drought for its second CDC crown, with the rest of the chasing pack in Ateneo, La Salle, and University of the East all vying for their first-ever victories.
