UAAP Cheerdance: Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion eyes 'magical' transformation

Ateneo hopes to end string of last-place finishes in UAAP Cheer Dance

THE Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion is hoping a routine it calls “magical” would provide a lift as the team tries to move out of the cellar in the UAAP Cheerdance Competition at the MOA Arena.

Bottom of the pack for five straight years, the Ateneo squad is eager to unveil the result of seven months of preparation when the event comes off the wraps on November 17.

“Every year nakikita ko ‘yung parang frustration, ‘yung hunger after every competition na parang, ‘Oh my gosh, hindi pa rin pala enough ‘yung ginawa nating sacrifice,’” said Blue Babble Battalion team captain Mikee Turano.

For Blue Babble Battalion head coach Jaqueline Alota, final rankings won’t matter. The veteran cheerdance mentor pointed out that they should always do their best so that no matter the outcome, they will be satisfied.

“Hindi ko ina-ano na hindi kami nasali sa top three, as long as ‘yung team ko talagang binigay nila ‘yung best nila,” said Alota.

“Kasi if they are happy, kaming mga coaches happy na rin kami and everything will follow,” she added.
