UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help coach Ruf Vandolph Rosario had mixed emotions after the Perps reclaimed lost glory by winning the cheerleading title of NCAA Season 91 on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Rosario is glad for the success of his team, but at the same time, feels sorry for his best friend, Lucky San Juan, who is coach of defending champion Arellano, which finished runner-up this time.

The outspoken mentor was all smiles for his post-game interview, exchanging banters with reporters and saying he missed being interviewed by the media.

But when asked on his thoughts about the win, he couldn’t help but feel sad for San Juan.

“Si coach Lucky is one of my closest friends, in fact best friend ko talaga. Nag-uusap kami, like last year, na kahit sinong manalo walang magbabago. Trabaho lang, ibibigay niya ‘yung best niya, bigay ko 'yung best ko,” he said.

Rosario said San Juan comforted him last year when the Perps lost the championship.

“I congratulate coach Lucky talaga (and) I am proud of him, actually ngayon nga papunta na ako sa dugout nila eh,” he said.

Rosario was confident Perpetual Help could reclaim the title until a major fall at the end of the routine as the team pyramid was not established.
