Adamson Pep Squad looks to end years of frustration with all-out showing in UAAP Cheerdance

ADAMSON University Pep Squad banks on a full year of hard work and training to hopefully end years of underwhelming stints and find just reward for their sacrifices in the UAAP Cheerdance Competition on Saturday.

Team captain Juan Carlo Estelita has long hoped for a championship after so many years of trying, with only a fourth place finish to show in 2014 as the closest Adamson has gotten to a podium spot in the last four seasons.

“My motivation para sa parating na CDC is manalo for a best exit bilang last playing year ko na and I also want to end those years na kinakapos kame sa place and hopefully ito na 'yung time," said the fifth year Electronic and Communication Engineering student.

Estelita believes that all their sacrifices—the injuries, the weary bodies and the sleepless nights to make up for their academics—has only made his team stronger through years of frustration. And the Adamson Pep Squad skipper hopes that every little thing they did will pay off on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum.

"We experienced many things like injuries and adjustment to our new coach but nasolusyunan namin 'yun and 'yun 'yung nakapagpatibay sa team," he said.

However, Estelita admitted that the road to the top spot is easier said than done. But in order to reach their goal, they have to beat their toughest opponent.

"For me, the only thing that we need to beat is 'yung sarili namin," he said. "Kailangan namin maovercome 'yung pressure and maiperform 'yung piece na pinaghandaan namin ng almost a year."
