NATIONAL University Pep Squad continued their reign for the fifth straight year in the College Coed Cheer category of the National Cheerleading Championship (NCC) Season 12 NCR Qualifiers held last Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

The reigning national champions wowed the crowd in attendance with their captivating stunts and choreography, on their way to earning 327 points from the panel of judges.

The University of Perpetual Help Dalta Altas Perpsquad, who executed a perfect routine (without deductions on errors), came in at second place with 315 points. Rounding out the podium finishers were the Far Eastern University Cheering Squad with a score of 299.5 points.

With the sport’s steady surge in popularity, cheering aficionados can expect a much bigger competition in the National Finals happening on March 10-12 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Meanwhile, Xavier School Dance X took the top spot in the Mixed Hip Hop Division of the National Dance Championship held on the first day of the NCR qualifiers. They were followed by Marist High Impact and LSGH Air Force. All three teams will be part of the Nationals on March 10.
