ATENEO Blue Babble Battalion kept modest goals heading into the UAAP Season 80 Cheerdance Competition at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Regardless of the outcome, the Ateneo cheerleaders are hell bent on putting up a routine impeccable enough to give their fans a memorable show on December 2.
"The goal is to have a flawless execution from start to end, kahit simple lang basta perfect ang choreography, the elements are there," Ateneo coach Jacqueline Alota told SPIN.ph before the team's practice at the Blue Eagle Gym on Thursday.
"Bonus na lang [yang placing]. The fulfilling part is you do the routine from start to end na very graceful and everything will follow," she added.
Team captain Pat Gumaru echoed her coach’s sentiments.
"We're really just focusing on being able to do every part, every element for the competition," Gumaru said.
While they finished at the bottom last year, Gumaru is confident a better Ateneo squad will go all out put on a show to remember for their community.
"For me, it's a stronger team this year. We have better skills compared to the previous years and it's a routine they will enjoy," she said.
"I can say na we're more ready this year. We're ready to compete on December 2."
