ADAMSON hopes its 13-year podium drought in the UAAP Cheerdance Competition will finally come to an end on Sunday.

For the San Marcelino-based cheerdancers, however, achieving it will mean being at par with powerhouse teams such as defending champion National University and eight-time title holders University of the Philippines and University of Santo Tomas.

“We work hard more so we can reach the skills of other teams,” said Adamson team captain Kenneth Santos. “NU at UP kasi ang tinitingala sa UAAP Cheerdance ngayon.”

Adamson finished fifth last year, but has never made the podium since finishing runner-up in 2001.

The hungry factor should also work well for the school’s campaign.

“Expect this year a new Adamson Pep Squad that will perform on September 14 as our goal is to be in the top three,” said Santos.

“I think our advantage over the other teams is we work as one and we trust each other.” he added.
