BRITISH boxer Amir Khan has been reinstated by World Boxing Association as its light welterweight champion.
Khan is scheduled to fight WBC champion Danny Garcia on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) in a unification bout in Las Vegas.
Khan was supposed to face Lamont Peterson in a rematch of their controversial split decision contest last December that saw Peterson claiming the WBA belt.
Peterson, however, tested positive for abnormally high levels of testosterone and was stripped of the title.
Khan reclaimed the belt after an appeal with the WBA.
