LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Anytime now Jonas Sultan is ready to go toe-to-toe with super-flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas.
The 26-year-old challenger is in excellent condition for his title fight against Ancajas in Fresno, California that he’s prepared to take on the reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) super-flyweight champion even if the fight happens tomorrow.
“Maganda ang condition niya, ready na siya sa laban,” said head trainer Edito Villamor on Saturday.
“He’s in high spirit, sir.”
The 12-round bout is scheduled on May 26 yet at the Save Mart Center.
The team of Sultan has been here training for almost three weeks and is now cooling down in their camp at the famed Wild Card gym of Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach.
Sultan is expected to cross paths with Ancajas on Saturday when the two will be honored at the Filipino Cultural Center during a ‘meet and greet’ event for Filipinos based here.
By Monday, the team is expected to leave for Fresno on the week of the fight.
