LAS VEGAS – And the no black dress code stays on.
Despite her husband coming off a rare loss, Jinkee Pacquiao is sticking to her usual practice of not wearing anything colored black on Saturday night (Sunday, Manila time) when Manny Pacquiao climbs the ring for his fourth fight with Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand.
“Yes, no black pa rin,” said the pretty Jinkee, a celebrity in her own right back home.
Pacquiao lost his last bout against Timothy Bradley six months ago in a shocking 12-round split decision to yield his World Boxing Organization welterweight title - the boxing legend’s first setback in seven years.
Mrs. Pacquiao candidly said she’s not going to break the tradition just to counter the bad luck from the Bradley fight.
“Hindi na rin,” said the boxing superstar’s wife turned product endorser, who is running for Sarangani vice-governor in the coming elections. “Actually si Manny talaga ang ayaw akong magsuot ng black during fight night. Kaya nakagawian na rin namin.”
But that doesn’t mean boxing’s First Lady is not fond of wearing black clothing.
“Ngayon nga naka-black ako, e,” as she tried to show to Spin.ph the matching black and green dress she was wearing.
