MACAU – A commotion marred the final day of Manny Pacquiao’s training for his coming welterweight title bout against Chris Algieri.
Freddie Roach ordered a supposed production and documentary person out of the facility where Pacquiao was working out at The Venetian on Thursday as the celebrated trainer believed the woman was `spying’ for the camp of Algieri.
The lady was later identified as Cara Castronouva, a certified trainer from New York who served as one of the newest trainers in Season 11 of the hit reality show 'Biggest Loser.'
Roach approached Castronouva upon seeing her in the gym and immediately ordered the New Yorker on top of his voice to get out. The five-time Trainer of the Year alleged she shared the video of Pacquiao’s entire training session on Wednesday to the Algieri camp.
Castronouva, who came with a lady companion, acknowledged she did video Pacquiao while training, but denied having showed it to Algieri and his group.
She is reportedly doing a boxing documentary to be aired after the Pacquiao-Algieri welterweight title fight.
Roach however, would have none of it and didn’t stop ranting until the lady left the room.
The confrontation came as a surprise to those who were still in the facility watching while Pacquiao winds up his afternoon training.
Pacquiao also noticed the exchange of words between his trainer and the woman, but went on and continued doing his abdominal exercises.
Afterwards, he approached his 54-year-old trainer and tried to calm him down.
He later eased the tension when he told people around him how "lovely the day was."
“It’s a lovely day. Every day is a lovely day one because we’re still alive, we’re still breathing,” said the Bible-preaching world boxing champion.
