GENESIS Servania easily made weight Friday and readily gears up for the biggest test of his young career as he battles two-time world champion Alexander Munoz of Venezuela Saturday night at the grand ballroom of the Solaire Resort and Casino Hotel.

The 22-year-old native of Bacolod City tipped in at 121 lbs. during the official weigh-in for the 24th edition of Pinoy Pride at the Robinson’s Galleria activity center, while Munoz came in at the exact super-bantamweight limit of 122 lbs.

Both said they are out to win the fight set for 12 rounds for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Intercontinental junior featherweight title belt.

“Handang-handa na tayo. Tingnan na lang natin sa loob ng ring. Matiray ang matibay,” said a smiling Servania, who’s undefeated in 23 fights (9KOs) and ranked third by the WBO.

Servania is hoping to have a possible shot at a world title with a big win against his 35-year-old foe.

“I respect Genesis very much and knows the fight is not going to be easy. But the knockout will just come,” vowed Munoz, a former World Boxing Association (WBA) super-flyweight champion who sports a 36-5 record with 28 KOs.

Prince Albert Pagara and King Arthur Villanueva, who headline the six-fight undercard of the event presented by ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports, also didn’t have the hard time making their respective weights.

Pagara (18-0, 12 KOs) and Indonesia foe Isack Junior both tipped in at 122 lbs. for their 10-round super-bantamweight clash.

Villanueva (24-0, 14 KOs) on the other hand, weighed 116 lbs. for his 10-round super-flyweight match against Fernando Aguilar of Mexico. The Mexican also came in at 116 lbs.
