FROILAN Saludar scored a lopsided decision over Jose Alfredo Tirado of Mexico as he kept his unbeaten record intact at the Astrodome on Friday night.

The 23-year old Filipino, a member of the prominent boxing family from Polomolok, Cotabato, dominated the Mexican for 12 full rounds on the way to an emphatic 120-108, 119-109, 118-110 unanimous decision in the main event of the Kamao: Kidlat at Maso boxing promotion.

Saludar improved to 16-0, with 11 KOs as he retained his World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental flyweight crown.

Tirado from Sinaloa, Mexico, fell to 27-12, including 19 KOs.

In the main undercard, Mark Jason Melligen stopped Sapapetch Sor Sakaorat of Thai at the 2:08 mark of the second round in their 10-round bantamweight encounter.

Jerwin Ancajas also scored a stoppage in the final round of a 10-round super-bantamweight match against Miguel Tamayo of Mexico.

The boxing promotion spearheaded by Shape Up boxing gym owner Anson Tiu Co, was dedicated to the memory of the late fighter Karlo Maquinto.
