LOS ANGELES – Freddie Roach is well aware Manny Pacquiao has the capacity to take Floyd Mayweather Jr. out with a single punch.
Mayweather can't claim the same.
The famed trainer said Pacquiao’s vaunted left hand still packs a wallop despite being slowed down a bit by age and the wear and tear of decades of fighting.
“Manny has a lot of power in his left (hand). We’re working on that a little bit as usual because that has been his most powerful punch,” the 55-year-old trainer noted.
Even more, Floyd has had history of having trouble dealing with southpaws and was actually knocked down by Zab Judah with a single punch early in their world title match almost a decade ago.
And unlike Pacquiao, Roach pointed out Mayweather’s lack of power in his punches.
“I don’t think Floyd has the power in his punch to knock out out Manny Pacquiao. I don’t see that happening,” he said.
