JERWIN Ancajas is ready to take on all comers, including newly-crowned World Boxing Council (WBC) super-flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada.

Ancajas’ seventh-round stoppage of Ryuichi Funai two weeks ago in his latest defense of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) super-flyweight belt had the Filipino further making a case for himself as one of the best in the 115-lbs division today.

And Estrada has taken notice, saying he’s ready to face Ancajas in the ring in a title unification fight.

“I want Jerwin Ancajas, the Filipino IBF champion. That is the fight I want,” said Estrada, who captured the WBC crown via unanimous decision recently over Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.

The Ancajas camp said it welcomes Estrada’s challenge or any other potential opponent for that matter which its promoter Top Rank deemed would be the perfect fighter the champion would face next in the ring.

“Basta handa lang kami sa susunod na laban, kung sino man ang iharap sa amin,” said Ancajas team manager Joven Jimenez as they prepare to return to Manila on Tuesday.

Following the TKO win over Funai, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said he wants Ancajas to fight undefeated Aussie Andrew Maloney, who sports a 19-0 record, including 12 KOs.

Jimenez said the Ancajas team is leaving it all up to international matchmaker Sean Gibbons to arrange the Filipino’s next fight, possibly in September.

“Wala pang sinabi sa amin si Sir Sean. Kung ano ang plano niya, yun din ang gusto namin,” added the former national training team member.

The compact group of Ancajas is set to arrive in the country early Tuesday morning from Los Angeles. The champion proceeded to Las Vegas for a one-week vacation after the seventh successful defense of his IBF crown.

After a two-week rest, Ancajas and Jimenez will be going to Macau by the end of the month where the 27-year-old pride of Panabo, Davao will be honored by the IBF with the Jersey Joe Walcott award during the boxing body’s 36th Annual Convention at the Wynn Palace Cotai.

The award is the highest honor being given by the IBF named after the late great heavyweight champion of the 50s.
