FILIPINO boxer John Moralde is recovering well from COVID-19 and is now spending the final days of his quarantine in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 26-year-old Davao-born fighter caught the virus just days before he was supposed to face Alexis Del Bosque last July 16 at the Bubble inside the MGM Grand.
Moralde failed to show up during the official weigh-in after testing positive for COVID-19.
He has since been quarantined in a Las Vegas hotel and has three days left before he is ‘free to go,’ according to a source.
“Yes, all expenses paid by Top Rank,” added the same source. "He will come back stronger."
A message left by SPIN.ph to Sanman Promotions, which handles Moralde, remains unanswered at posting time.
The Filipino super-featherweight (23-2, 13 KOs) trained in Miami, Florida under Cuban trainer Moro Fernandez.
Cases of COVID-19 in Florida have been on the rise, with nearly 370,000 cases as of July 21.
Filipino boxers Mike Plania and Reymart Gaballo are also in Miami.
