PEDRO Taduran vows to put on a show in his U.S. debut when he puts his his IBF mini-flyweight crown on the line against Mexican Gustavo Perez Alvarez.
The 12-round showdown is set Saturday (Manila time) at the Penchanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California.
The 29-year-old Taduran has defended his title in Mexico, Manila, and Japan, but will be boxing for the first time on American soil.
Certainly, it’s an opportunity he doesn’t want to miss, as he eyes to retain his belt for the third straight time.
Fighting out of MP Promotions, Taduran had no problem making weight on Friday, tipping the scales at 104.6.
The challenger from Baja California, Mexico came in slightly under at 104.2.
Holder of a 19-4-1 record with 13 KOs, Taduran is coming off a successful title defense against compatriot Christian Balunan via a unanimous decision in October last year as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the 'Thrilla in Manila.'

Alvarez, 27, meanwhile, won by split decision against Nicaraguan Kevin Vivas July of last year to bring his overall record to 16-1 with 5 KOs.
